I have read many articles on team development and the one interesting point that always seems to stick with me is team spirit.Team spirit means thinking of others. It means losing oneself in the group for the good of the group. It means being not just willing, but eager to sacrifice personal interest or glory for the welfare of all. Have you ever been part of a team or group that has a lot of team spirit? Please share your experience with me.
The Brakeman
My best team spirit experience was in college.
ReplyDeleteAs a group, (our team of 9 students), the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) club, came together to win the 'Northeast Regional Champions'. We won an all-expense paid trip to the National Championships in Kansas City where we won 'Rookie of the Year' against 700 other college's. We worked together as a team and earned these awards through very hard work and team effort. Best feeling in the world!
I'm part of a terrific team right now. We each have a part of the Life Style Indicator: Believer, Supporter, Creator and Achiever. Each one of us works hard as a team to achieve our team goal and to assist each other so that we make our individual goals. It makes it fun to go to work, when you have the right people in place. The atmosphere is very positive and each person helps to balance the Team
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of "Team'...or A Team's Spirit, it reminds me of accomplishments/goals that can be achieved when we work as a team,,,and it is in the team that a spirit develops..
ReplyDeleteWe build a unique bond. that as teammates will last forever.
I quote the late Fred Shero Head Coach of the Two Time Stanley Cup Champions, The Philadelphia Flyers.....
....." •Win together today!!! and we walk together forever !!!
Being involved in athletics my entire life,,,this quote grabs me deep inside..
